• Don't approach them: This sounds obvious, but some people try to get "cute" photos. Don't do it! They are wild animals and can be dangerous, particularly if they feel threatened or cornered. Keep your distance, and let them do their thing.

• Invest in baboon-proof bins: It's worth the investment. These bins are seriously tough and impossible for baboons to open. A total game-changer for keeping your neighborhood clean and safe.

• Community is key: Talking to your neighbors about baboon prevention is important. A united front is much more effective.

The baboon situation is a ongoing challenge for Cape Town. It's a complex problem with no easy answers.
